Ready or Not
This is the one with the bride who marries into a rich family, but must survive a game of hide and seek before becoming a full member. Overall it was an enjoyable, if light, bit of entertainment.
Spoiler warning: if you haven't seen this movie, I casually mention significant plot points. You have been warned.
Things I Liked:
* I didn't see the final twist coming.
* Sam Weaving added some very human touches to her character. I'll be looking for her in future movies.
Things I Didn't Like:
* The flip-flopping of the husband. Bad enough that he didn't explain the situation to his bride before hand -- even if she left him, she deserved to know the backstory -- but siding with his family when the chips were down was a scummy move. And *then* to try to talk his way back into her good graces as he watched his family die? Maybe that makes him a good villain, exposing a weak man trying to get through life, but it irritated me.
* No grabbing the gun, and not running over the butler. Rookie move -- unless you insure they're good and stopped, they're coming back. I mean, you threw a quart of boiling water in his face, and he's still tracking you down? At least run over his legs so he can't get you. And take his cell phone.
* Some of the gore was gratuitous, especially the tear on the metal gate and the "nail in the hand hole" bit.
